Posted on Google![]()

Colin & Val and all at African Sunrise Safari did a great job setting up our month-long adventure to Zimbabwe and South Africa this past Sept. The in-country air and transportation flowed well. Food was good at all camps and drinks were plentiful. All the staff very friendly and welcoming. We had a great time in Victoria falls. Try Baines Restaurant for lunch-right on the river just upstream from the falls. Our stay at Tum Tum Treehouse Lodge (loved being up in the trees) and Nehimba Lodge in Hwange were excellent including many more animals than we expected-pride of lions on the (unsuccessful) hunt for wildebeest, a multitude of elephants, lilac breasted rollers (colorful in flight), wild kit, painted dogs, cape buffalo, ostrich). The airstrip Imvelo is building near Tum Tum should be finished soon, shortening the trip to the lodge. We opted for the Elephant Express train between camps, but not much to see along the way. Flew down to South Africa with a night at Oliver’s (very nice) then continued to 18 on the Hill in Maseke Game Reserve. Great setup, modern for a “safari camp.” Again, lots of wildlife-rhinos, cape buffalo, kudu, zebras, hippos, lions, giraffes and elephants. Our last camp was at Nkorho, Sabi Sand. Accommodations were good but really need updating (in their plans in near future). Menu rather limited, especially at lunch (repeat offerings). The grounds were beautiful. Great guides. Cats, cats, cats-loved the leopards every day and all the lions. Thought we wanted to see a successful lion hunt, but in retrospect would rather not have seen and heard it. We saw painted dogs, hyenas, buffalo, wildebeest, warthogs, impala, elephants, zebras, hippos, rhinos, jackels, even a Nile Monitor climbing up a tree. Flew to Cape Town and picked up rental car & stayed at Lawhill Luxury apartments, easy walk to the V&A for restaurants and shopping. Took the hop on hop off bus for a view of the city and gondola to Table Mountain. Great day visit to Kirchenboasch Gardens. Drove to Hermanus for whale viewing, stayed at Harbor House Hotel, rooms were nice with view of waterfront. Last stop was to Franschhoek, stayed at La Fontaine, an old home converted to a B&B-well maintained bar, full breakfast, friendly staff AND well located to walk to wine tram, dinners and shopping. Great trip overall, Colin-thanks again. Brenda, Roy, Tammy & JohnPosted on Google![]()

Our second trip with Colin and his team and once again everything went to plan. Helped us find a couple of great guesthouses and provided information as we needed. All transfers were perfect and car hire was great with a little help on the day needed, Natasha from Sunset was there ready to help. Looking at our third trip already. Thanks to all at Sunrise safari for making the trip memorablePosted on Google![]()

We had an extraordinary experience starting in Victoria Falls, then on to Hwange National Park and the Nahimba lodge where we did approximately 7 safaris. From their we went to the Lions Sands Lodge in Sabi Sands near Krueger. The accommodations were fantastic and our safaris were breathtaking. We the ventured to Cape Town for 2 nights and then to wine country in Franschoek. In all we had a 16 day trip that was memorable. African Sunrise made every reservation, internal flight, tours and airport transfer and everything went without a “hitch”. I would highly recommend Colin and Val to anyone to take care of your African safari adventure.Posted on Google![]()

Just back from a fabulous holiday in South Africa. This was our 4th holiday in Southern Africa organised by Colin and his team. The accommodation selected was exceptional. The benefit of understanding our preferences for style of accommodation and budget was obvious but just as important is the Company’s local presence and the comprehensive understanding of the choices available so that it met our needs precisely. I highly recommend.Posted on Google![]()

We used east cape tours to book our safaris in Madikwe and Sabi Sands. Both experiences were fantastic. Escape tours took care of all of our ground transportation as well as our room accommodations and Safari adventures, so everything was easy and seamless. We would definitely use their services again. Cearl was particularly attentive.Posted on Google![]()

I booked a holiday through this company which was unfortunately we had to postpone due to Covid, they helped us promptly to rebook the entire trip for next year, there was no additional cost and nothing was too much trouble, I highly recommend them.
